Exploring Boboyi Poraduz – A Spiritual Stop in Bukhara


Today, as part of our practicum journey, we explored Boboyi Poraduz, a lesser-known but spiritually rich place in Bukhara. It may not be as famous as some of the city’s larger monuments, but it holds deep meaning for local people and visitors who are interested in spiritual history. The place is named after Boboyi Poraduz, a respected religious figure, and serves as a quiet resting place and shrine that attracts pilgrims and those seeking peace.


When we arrived, I noticed how calm and simple the surroundings were. Unlike some larger tourist sites, Boboyi Poraduz had a very peaceful and humble atmosphere. As we walked through the area, I felt a strong spiritual energy. It was a space where people come not just to observe history, but to reflect and pray. There were a few visitors who respectfully offered prayers, and seeing this made me feel more connected to the spiritual side of our culture.


What stood out to me most was the feeling of quiet respect. Even though we didn’t spend a lot of time there, the visit left a strong impression on me.


This visit reminded me that even small, quiet places can teach us powerful lessons. I left Boboyi Poraduz feeling calm, thoughtful, and more aware of how rich and meaningful our local traditions are.

Chor Minar

 A Visit to Chor-Minor Today, during our practicum, we had the chance to visit Chor-Minor, one of the most interesting historical sites in Bukhara. Although it is not as large as other monuments, it immediately caught my attention with its unique design.  The name "Chor-Minor" means "Four Minarets," and true to its name, the building has four small towers, each with a slightly different look. I found it fascinating that each tower is said to represent a different culture, showing how diverse and rich our history is. When I first saw the building, I felt both curious and surprised. It looked very different from what I expected. The bright blue domes on top of each tower gave it a cheerful and peaceful feeling.   Visiting Said Abdulhasan Poband – Discovering Spiritual Heritage Today, as part of our practicum, we had the chance to visit the resting place of Said Abdulhasan Poband, a respected religious figure in Bukhara’s rich spiritual history. Although the site is not very large or well-known to tourists, it holds deep meaning for the local community.  Visiting places like this helps us see a different side of Bukhara – not just its famous monuments, but also the hidden spiritual landmarks that are full of respect and tradition. When we arrived, the peacefulness of the place immediately caught my attention. The surroundings were quiet, and the atmosphere felt sacred.
